MathPad

Write the solution. Present it step by step. Post it everywhere.

MathPad is a maths teaching app for tablets and PCs. Type or handwrite worked solutions, reveal them one step at a time, record your voice over them, and publish the lesson as a video.

What is MathPad?

MathPad is an educational app for maths teachers, tutors and students. Its purpose is to help you write out the worked solution to a maths question one step at a time, explain it on screen, and turn that explanation into a short lesson video that learners can watch again.

MathPad runs on Android tablets and Windows PCs. You don't need an account or a login to use it or to read this website. Your work is saved on your own device.

Why MathPad asks for Google access. Connecting YouTube is optional. If you connect it, MathPad uses the YouTube Data API only to upload the lesson videos you make to your own YouTube channel, and to show your channel name so you know where the video will go. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is accessed.

What MathPad does not do. MathPad does not generate images or videos of people with AI, does not create or edit intimate or sexual imagery of anyone, and is not used for anything other than maths teaching content.

What MathPad does

Everything a teacher needs to turn a worked example into a lesson students can watch again.

Steps that look handwritten

Type equations with real fractions, roots, limits and matrices. They appear as neat blue ink, or as print if you prefer.

Write with a stylus

A whiteboard-style pad with pressure-sensitive ink, palm rejection, and the pen button as an eraser. Write over any step while you teach.

Reveal one step at a time

Present mode shows each step when you tap, with a typing animation you can speed up or slow down.

Record a narrated video

Talk through the solution while you present. MathPad removes background noise from your voice and adds a like, follow and share end card.

Publish in one tap

Upload the same video to your YouTube channel, your Facebook Page and TikTok at once, with one title and description.

Diagrams, tables and Venn

Cones, cylinders, triangles and 21 other shapes with your own labels, plus tables of values and shaded Venn diagrams.

How a lesson comes together

  1. Set the question

Type it, add an equation, a picture, a video or a diagram. Group questions by subject and topic, or import a whole set from a spreadsheet.

  2. Work the solution

Add typed or handwritten steps, comments between them, and place steps side by side.

  3. Present and record

Reveal steps as you explain, write over them with the stylus, and record your voice.

  4. Share it

Save the video to your device or publish it to YouTube, Facebook and TikTok together.

Every video ends with your own like, follow and share card.

Your work stays on your device

MathPad has no accounts and no servers. Your questions, recordings and videos are saved on your own tablet or PC. MathPad does not use analytics, advertising or tracking.

If you choose to connect YouTube, Facebook or TikTok, MathPad uses that connection only to upload the videos you choose and to show which account is connected. Your sign-in is stored encrypted on your device and is never sent to anyone except that platform.

MathPad's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. MathPad uses YouTube API Services. Read our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
