Privacy Policy
Last updated 1 November 2026
- MathPad keeps your questions, recordings and videos on your own device. We have no servers and no user accounts.
- No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no cookies.
- If you connect YouTube, Facebook or TikTok, MathPad uses that connection only to publish the videos you choose. Your sign-in stays encrypted on your device and goes only to that platform.
- You can disconnect at any time. Disconnecting revokes MathPad's access and deletes the sign-in from your device.
1. Who we are
MathPad is an app for writing, presenting and recording maths solutions, made by Preps233 in Accra, Ghana ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information MathPad uses and why. It covers the MathPad apps for Android and Windows and this website.
Questions or complaints about privacy: johnshiburah@gmail.com.
2. What MathPad stores on your device
Everything you create in MathPad is saved only on the device you use it on:
- questions, solution steps, comments, diagrams, tables and handwriting;
- pictures and videos you add to questions (MathPad keeps a copy in its own folder);
- voice recordings made while you present, and the videos MathPad makes from them;
- your settings, such as theme, pen colour and the text of your video end card.
We do not receive any of this. MathPad has no MathPad account, no cloud storage of its own and no servers that collect your content. If you uninstall MathPad, this data is removed from the app (videos you saved to your gallery or another folder stay where you saved them).
3. Device permissions
- Microphone: used only while you record a presentation. The recording is processed on your device to make the video.
- Camera, photos and files: used only when you choose to add a picture or video, import questions, or save a video.
- Internet: used only to connect to and upload to YouTube, Facebook or TikTok when you ask MathPad to.
4. YouTube and Google user data
MathPad uses YouTube API Services (the YouTube Data API v3) for one purpose: to upload a video you made in MathPad to your own YouTube channel, when you ask it to. Connecting YouTube is optional, and MathPad works fully without it.
Google user data MathPad accesses
| Permission (scope) you grant | Data accessed | Why MathPad needs it |
|---|---|---|
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload | Permission to add a video to your channel. MathPad sends the video file and the title, description, tags and privacy setting you type. It does not read, change or delete any of your existing videos. | To upload the lesson video you chose. |
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly | Your channel ID and channel name only. | To show you which channel is connected before you upload, so a video doesn't go to the wrong channel. |
| OAuth access and refresh tokens | The sign-in tokens Google issues to MathPad. | To make the upload request on your behalf. |
MathPad does not access your Google account email, contacts, Google Drive, Gmail, watch history, subscriptions, comments, analytics or any other Google data.
How MathPad uses Google user data
Your channel name is shown on MathPad's publishing screen. The tokens are used only to upload the videos you choose, and the upload goes straight from your device to Google. MathPad does not use Google user data for advertising, profiling, analytics, or to develop, improve or train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
Storage and protection
The tokens, channel ID and channel name are stored only on your device, encrypted in the operating system's secure storage (Android Keystore on Android, Windows Data Protection on Windows). They are never sent to us or to any server of ours, because we don't have one. Every connection to Google uses HTTPS.
Sharing and disclosure
MathPad does not sell, rent, share, transfer or disclose Google user data to anyone. The only place it goes is back to Google, to make the upload you asked for. No person at Preps233 can see it.
Retention and deletion
MathPad keeps the tokens and channel name until you disconnect YouTube or uninstall MathPad, and then they are deleted from your device. Videos you upload are kept by YouTube under your account until you delete them on YouTube.
Limited Use. MathPad's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google's policies. Using YouTube through MathPad is also covered by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Revoking access. Tap Disconnect next to YouTube in MathPad (Home → Video & publishing settings → Publishing accounts). This revokes MathPad's access with Google and deletes the tokens from your device. You can also remove MathPad's access at any time from the Google security settings page: security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.
5. Facebook
Connecting Facebook is optional. Facebook allows apps to post only to Pages you manage, not to personal profiles.
| Permission you grant | What MathPad does with it |
|---|---|
pages_show_list | Lists the Pages you manage so you can choose which one to post to. |
pages_read_engagement | Reads each Page's name and the Page access token needed to post. MathPad does not read your posts, comments, followers or insights. |
pages_manage_posts | Posts the video you choose to the Page you choose, with your title and description. |
Your Page names and access tokens are stored encrypted on your device and are sent only to Facebook. To revoke access, tap Disconnect in MathPad, which removes MathPad's permissions on Facebook and deletes the tokens, or remove MathPad in Facebook under Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations.
6. TikTok
Connecting TikTok is optional.
| Permission you grant | What MathPad does with it |
|---|---|
user.info.basic | Reads your TikTok display name, to show which account is connected. |
video.upload | Sends the video you choose to your TikTok inbox, where you finish and post it in the TikTok app. |
video.publish | Posts the video you choose directly to your account, with the caption and privacy setting you choose, when you pick "Post directly". |
Your TikTok tokens and display name are stored encrypted on your device and are sent only to TikTok. To revoke access, tap Disconnect in MathPad, which revokes MathPad's access with TikTok and deletes the tokens, or remove MathPad in the TikTok app under Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Apps and services permissions.
7. Sharing and selling
We do not sell, rent or share your information. The only information that leaves your device is what you ask MathPad to send: a video and its title, description and tags, uploaded to the platform you choose, together with the sign-in token that platform requires. Once a video is on YouTube, Facebook or TikTok, that platform's own privacy policy applies to it.
8. Cookies, ads and third-party content
The MathPad apps contain no advertising and no analytics or tracking code, and no third party serves content through them. MathPad does not use cookies or similar technology to collect information, in the apps or through this website. The secure storage MathPad uses on your device holds only your own sign-in tokens, as described above. This website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your browser's IP address to deliver them (see the Google Privacy Policy).
9. Deleting your data and revoking access
- Connected accounts: tap Disconnect next to YouTube, Facebook or TikTok in MathPad. MathPad revokes its access with the platform straight away and deletes the stored sign-in from your device.
- Your content: delete any question or video in the app, or uninstall MathPad to remove everything it stored.
- On the platforms: you can also revoke access from Google's security settings, Facebook's Business integrations settings, or TikTok's app permissions.
Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side. If you would like us to confirm this, or you have any request about your data, email johnshiburah@gmail.com and we will reply within 7 days.
10. Security
Sign-in tokens and app keys are kept in the operating system's secure storage. All connections to YouTube, Facebook and TikTok use HTTPS. MathPad signs in through your web browser, so it never sees your passwords.
11. Children
MathPad is made for teachers and learners and does not collect personal information from anyone. Connecting YouTube, Facebook or TikTok requires an account on that platform, and each platform sets its own minimum age. A teacher or parent should connect those accounts for younger students.
12. Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page, and we will explain any important change in the app. Questions, requests or complaints: johnshiburah@gmail.com.
